Multi-functional Hydrodynamic Body

  • Subhub’s hydrodynamic shape boosts power output by accelerating the tidal flows into the rotor. The acceleration of the flow is also apparent in the tow outboard tidal turbines.
  • The body of the Subhub contains the massive concrete ballast required to securely anchor the array of the turbines to the seabed.
  • Down force generated by its carefully shaped hull provides a reduction in the ballast requirements.
  • Grid ready electricity is provided by the electrical conditioning equipment housed within the pressure hulls.
